But let me tell you one thing- that we all are using web2.0 applications or products without knowing it!

Anyway even I didnt know what it was actually! So did a bit of searching and came up with lots of results. After reading few articles, I understood that it will be best if we can know what are the products/applications or the end results of web2.0. That way we will get a first hand example also.

Thus listing the products that we see or use here in internet day in and day out :-

Forums:

Yes. This is actually an example or a product of web2.0. Did you ever think of it? Atleast I didnt! I thought it just evolved from nowhere. And with this, people started forming communities and sharing ideas and news or whatever they felt like sharing in keeping with the forum rules and regulations. To sum it up, it is just a platform where like-minded people gather to discuss or share or work jointly.

Ah, this is a nice bit of information that i came across. The innovation actually helps you burn calories instead of burning electricity to charge laptops!

A group of students have come up with a way to recharge your laptop without plugging it in. Rather than consuming electricity, you will be burning a lot calories of your body. The students built an exercise bicycle that uses the power of pedalling to charge a laptop computer. thus letting you to exercise while you are working!

Students Piotr Fidkowski, Sebastian Figari, Sara John, Kendra Johnson, Julia Kiberd, Tina Lai and Devon McCorkle of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) teamed up with Laxmi Rao of MIT`s Information Services and Technology. The project was to connect a laptop with an exercise bicycle.

A conventional 12-volt battery is used. It is charged through belts and gears present in the cycle, which actually transfers the motion of the wheel into the battery. A charge is also present, which regulates the electricity passing to the battery and thus prevents the battery from over-charging. Then the charge of the battery is supplied to the laptop, that is placed on a tray, in place of the handlebars.

The seat of the bicycle is adjustable according to one`s need and even the tray of the laptop is movable!

This is actually a smart way to use the unwanted calories present in our body and do something useful with it instead of just releasing it wastefully. This technology is going to be very useful when people go to some place where there is no availability of electricity.

Yes you read that right. You can get free processors from Intel. They started a competition through which you can gift yourself a new processor to yourself.

But only if you are a good mod!

If you have modded your hardware and made a cool thing out of it, then simply shoot a video of it and post it here. The video should be less than 1 min. Thats all!

If they like your idea or its really cool, then you can win a processor!

Best Of Luck Guys!

Well nothing can be told more than the title of this post goes… She is dead. She was shot dead by a suicide attacker, from very close range. Then he blew himself up, killing and injuring more people there.

Benazir

She had addressed an election campaign in Liaqat Bagh park. Then she boarded her car which had a sun gaurd. She had just stood there waving at her loyalists and supporters from her party, when she was shot. She had many splinters in her body also, due to the suicide bombing that took place thereafter. It is expected that she died at 6.16pm local time.

Would you like to know how technology can or will change your daily activities? Would like to know how easy it will be to drive, manage your electricity bills, finding that dress which you just noticed someone wearing in the party last night?

Well IBM had come out with their five predictions for the next five years. They have talked about how the above mentioned activities will change for the better in the near future.

Lets see what they talked about…

Electricity management :

You simply forgot to switch off that air-conditioner and the dish-washer? Dont worry, do it with your cellphone! Would like to see the electricity consumption of the new fridge which you had bought after getting an assurance from the dealer that it will be a power-saver? Check it on your cellphone. Or you can also check it in your browser!

The electronic gadgets in your home will all be connected with an intelligent electric grid in your home. You will be able to switch on or off any particular appliance, check its status while you are away from your home. You will also be able to use renewable energy sources in a better way.

-: Merry Christmas To All Of You :-

This is a very interesting story that i read just before sometime. Thought of sharing it with you all.

Its about a truce that took place on the Christmas eve during World War One.

The year was 1914. December 24. An unofficial truce was called upon. The forces were German and British troops. They were standing face to face and fighting but only for that day or for that matter that night only.

They decorated their trenches with flowers and trees and such items. Men from both the forces met at the `No man`s land`. They exchanged gifts, wine, chocolates, etc among themselves. They even played football against each other!

They took away their colleages` dead bodies, to their own sides for burial activities. In one of the burial activities men from both the sides sang a carol.

We actually visited the place yesterday. I was so tired, that couldnt sit and compile the article.

Irresponsible Car Service…

Since we were six of us (family members), we had decided to take a car from a car service. We had booked a Scorpio for this purpose. It was asked to report at 5.30 am. Since it wouldnt be able to find home and there will be no one to ask about the address in the eraly hours of the morning my dad and i decided to to go to the nearest crossing and recieve the car from there.

But the car was not coming. We waited and waited… There was no sign of the car. Dad called the link person 3-4 times. he kept saying that it had left and that it would reach you within 15 min. We waited there, braving the cold wind that was blowing smoothly over our body bruising it with severe coolness.

The feeling was terrible. We were supposed to go to a place with fresh and healthy mind. But that was not to be. The anxiety level were rising all the time. Shivering with cold. Thinking what could be the next move, all the time.

And then the dicision was made!
