Just when I was bought the domain and trying to find my way on this new road, the engine of my car had a developed a snag. It delayed my journey to reach you all by a few days. For few days I was really scared.
I consulted mechanics but didnt get satisfactory answers. So decided to try-n-fix the problem myself.
Oh BTW, I am talking about the pc! :lol
The problem was, it used to hang at random intervals. it actually used to freeze when I am in the middle of some work. The mouse, the keyboard, the screen, the hdd, all used to freeze. I hope you can understand the situation and the frustation.
I have found out that a lot of people suffer from this type of snag. And they actually dont know what must be done with it.
I gradually started trying different steps to fix it. Let me narrate it
1. Formatted the system partition.
Outcome - Nothing. Problem remains.
2. Formatted the system partition with a different xp cd.
Outcome - Nothing. Problem remains.
3. Formatted both the hdd, losing all my important songs, videos, and software archives.(Done it intentionally)
Outcome - Nothing. Problem remains.
Did all these in the same day.
Outcome - Nothing. Problem remains.
The next day…
1. Opened the cabinet.
2. Took a vaccum cleaner and put it in the blower mode.
3. Fired it inside the cabinet.
Outcome - I could see a cloud of dust going in the air at once.
4. Checked all the plugs and fixed them tightly.
5. Took out the ram module.
6. Took a pencil-eraser and rubbed the connecting portion nicely.
7. Placed it in the socket.
8. Switched on the pc and worked on it for some time.
Outcome - Voila! The problem solved.
9. Closed the cabinet.
So dirts must be cleared regularly, the sockets must be checked and the ram must be kept clean regularly.
Note: Please do not expect that a pc only freezes due to the dirt and loose socket problem. There might be other problems also.
Such as ram not working properly, too much heat generation in the cabinet or in the cpu region, hdd going bad.
There may be other software related issues also. Such as a driver compatibility problem, corrupt driver, infected with virus, etc.
The steps mentioned above are a way to do a preliminary check only.
So is your pc running smoothly?
