Well IBM had come out with their five predictions for the next five years. They have talked about how the above mentioned activities will change for the better in the near future.
Lets see what they talked about…
Electricity management :
You simply forgot to switch off that air-conditioner and the dish-washer? Dont worry, do it with your cellphone! Would like to see the electricity consumption of the new fridge which you had bought after getting an assurance from the dealer that it will be a power-saver? Check it on your cellphone. Or you can also check it in your browser!
The electronic gadgets in your home will all be connected with an intelligent electric grid in your home. You will be able to switch on or off any particular appliance, check its status while you are away from your home. You will also be able to use renewable energy sources in a better way.
Cellphone as your ultimate guide :
Within the next five years you can use the little gadget in your pocket to do everything you want. It will help you in shopping, paying bills, finding a product, informing your friends about it and asking for their comments, knowing about the place where you have come for the first time.
Anything and everything.
If you liked a dress worn by somebody, you can find out the details of that dress. Find out the shop where its sold, the price, the manufacturer, the designer etc. you can also see how the dress will look on you and ask your friends to comment to the dress online.
When you are visiting a new city you can always find out the details of the landmarks present, the entertainment hubs, the pubs, hangouts etc.
Intelligent driving :
The traffic signals will be automated. Traffic lights will be adjusted in real-time. Traffic will be diverted from a choked road to a less busy road. Cars will synchronize in a better way with other vehicles. All vehicles will sport better sensors with anti-crash technology to prevent accidents. And all these will ultimately translate into a lot safer, better, driving experience with less fuel burnt.
Find out what you eat :
Did you always wanted to find out the details about the food you consume? The place where it was grown or manufactured. What was the temperature under which it was produced? How many days did it take to travel?
Well technology is on its way which will allow you to find out everything about the food you consume. With advanced radio sensors one will be able to find out everything. The soil in which it was produced. The temperature under which it was brought to the local market. The pesticides used.
Doctors will be better equipped :
Doctors can sigh a big relief. They will have all the technology they want to better diagnose a patient. They can get a 3D view of the patient`s body. To find out everything about a particular region, they will only have to click on that part of the body. The medical history relating to that part will be infront of him in a jiffy! No searching of files and no browsing through a file for a particular report!
Thus its only a matter of time when our life revolves around technology. But the more we integrate it with our lives, the more prone we become to the ill-effects of it.
