Well for those of you who dont know about it will now, or have never heard about it, let me tell you what is this all about.

IPL or Indian Premier League, is a Twenty20 international tournament. Its being controlled or managed by BCCI, the Indian cricket board. in this tournament, the teams will come from different cities of India and will play against each other.

In the same way there are different particating countries will conduct the matches between their city teams. Finally there will be a clash between these winning teams from different countries!

Ya it all sounds very interesting, specially for a cricket nation like India!

It also sounds interesting for the richest cricket board in the world BCCI- lots of money to be made!

But it all started when ZEE Group challenged BCCI and started a rival cricket tournament in the country. It named it ICL or Indian Cricket League!

In that league, Kapil Dev the all rounder legend and the captain of the world cup winning Indian team wa made the incharge. Many divisional and Ranji players were lured away from those tournaments with better(read huge) payments. Even many international players were brought in the tournament.

But BCCI did not recognize it and did not allow the matches to be played on its ground.

Recently the first tournament of that league was completed.

Latest Development:

Yesterday the BCCI announced the winning bidders for the teams. Just look at those winning bidders and i am sure you will be surprised:

Mukesh Ambani - US $111.9 million, for the Mumbai team.

So just see who all have bidded and have won the teams! They are after all have seen huge potential in this field and have come out in this field with straight win!

It seems they are not at all satisfied with what they have and want more.

Afterall they are `business man and woman` isnt?
