Again a bag containing explosives have been found in a local train in Mumbai. Its such a scary thing, isnt it?

The commuters have found a bag lying on a row of seat in the train, when the train reached CST or Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus… a very busy terminus, infact one of the most busiest terminals there.

They then informed the GRP(Government Railway Police) which in turn called the bomb detection and disposal squad.

The bag contained explosives, 13 live unused cartidges and country made guns. The bag also contained local made sweets!

The explosives have been sent for examination.

It proves that terror cells in the financial capital of India are all active and thriving. intelligence forces and departments must wake up and reign them before we have a second Mumbai local train blast, which he had witnessed in June 2006. The local trains of Mumbai is a life-line for lakhs of commuters who travel through it daily. Those trains must be protected and thus the sentiments of common people.

These are few of the digital trends which are thought to be making big this year. All the forecasts are for India.

Lets find out what are these…

GPS comes into our cars -
In 2008, we’ll see screens in our cars which show — thankfully not DVDs but live map directions via satellite. No more getting lost in Gurgaon or in Whitefield.

Net on mobile -
Today less than 10 lakh people do it. In 2008, over 25 lakh will. That, between, is more than the people who access it through a landline today.

E-commerce gets real -
We’ve waited for this since 1998. But this is the year that people will truly start buying stuff online. Over Rs 10,000 crores worth of it will be bought by consumers.

Now its possible to get access to a printer in your LAN and print spams from the net!

Yes its been discovered by a guy named Aeron Weaver. He has actually found a loophole in the browsers through which spammers will get access to a LAN printer and can instruct it to print any message(read ads) they want.

The guy has used two concepts which had been here for a long time. The concepts are cross-site scripting attack and the manner in which browers handle IP(internet protocol) and leave lots of vulnerabilities.

For the attack to be launched in one`s browser, the person just has to visit a malicious site or a web-page which has the cross-site scripting error. The cracker/hacker then can send a javaxcript code in the browser which will find out a printer and can get the printing job done!

Ah, this is a very serious news and a cause of concern too.

A security researcher from Russia has claimed that he has been able to crack the CAPTCHA(Completely Automated public turing test to tell Computers and Humans Apart) code.

This is the code which shows us the graphical letters and numbers when we try to enter or log-in our account. This is actually used so that automated bots or codes cannot enter or log-in in any account to spread spam or any illegal thing because only human beings understand graphics.

But if the research`s claim is true then the bots will easily be able to create and log-in in yahoo mail accounts and wreck havoc in a large scale. He has claimed that his code can have a accuracy rate of about 35%.

He has informed Yahoo, but is yet to receive any communication from them. In the mean time Yahoo said that it knows about the cracking trails thats being carried out on its CAPTCHA code and is trying to improve that.

Yahoo`s CAPTCHA code is believed to be the strongest of all the codes present on the web.

So lets keep our fingers crossed guys…
