How better one can celebrate the past year and welcome a new year? Well… the way I celebrated it this year, I am going to remember it for a long time I think.
Things started happening from Sunday(30-12-07) afternoon. I was called by few of my neighbourhood friend. I was repeatedly asked or rather requested to go to a picnic with them on 31st December, i.e, the next day at early hours of the day! It was really surprising you now, I mean when you are told about it only few hours before the scheduled departure. Anyway I told them that I will try my best to join them but did not give them any word.
Later on decided to go with the picnic, cancelling the tuition classes and other activities which I had planned for that day.
And I didnt repent on the decision…
It was such a enjoyable on, such a different one!
We had actually gone to a friends house located just outside the city. It was surrounded by garden and trees etc. It was a large compound. We reached there at around 10 in the morning.
No cook went with us. There was a friend of ours who knew how to cook and we had decided that he would be cooking for us. And thats where the fun was and that was what was different.
All the boys started making merry and roamed about the complex while that cooking friend another guy and I was busy making meals!!
I washed all the hired utensils-which were quite dirty. Cut lemons, made paste of few seeds-dont know what was that! Served the guys during lunch etc. We 3 really enjoyed ourselves.
Though it will be wrong to say that others were not there at all. Few came for sometimes and then went away. But we remained there.
We had rice, dal, chiken curry, papad, french fry, chutney, sweets etc. And the food was really cooked well. I mean I really couldnt feel the difference between a professional cook and that friend! i was really amazed at his skills.
Then in the evening the mini truck came to pick us up. He was informed about the time earlier. And a memorable picnic came to an end!
Here are few pics…
